The Vision: Some homes ask for restraint. This one asked for imagination. Our client wanted a space that celebrated creativity, individuality, and the joy of entertaining—a room that felt less like a traditional sunroom and more like stepping through the looking glass. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, we set out to create an environment where fantasy and sophistication could exist side by side. It wasn't about recreating a movie; it was about designing a space that reflected the vibrant personality of the person who calls it home.

 

The Approach: Every decision became part of the story. A custom-designed bar anchors the room, inviting guests to gather as if they had stumbled into an unforgettable tea party. Layered fabrics, expressive patterns, and richly detailed wallpaper create moments of surprise around every corner, while bold colors and collected furnishings keep the room playful without feeling theatrical. Knowing our client is a drag performer gave us permission to lean into confidence, drama, and self-expression, creating a space that celebrates both artistry and authenticity.

 

The Outcome: The finished sunroom feels like an experience as much as a destination. It's joyful, unexpected, and impossible to forget—a place where friends naturally gather, conversations linger, and imagination is always welcome. More than anything, it reminds us that the most memorable interiors aren't defined by trends; they're defined by the people whose stories they tell.
